Selected Video:
It was unbelievable. We saw three leopards in one day. The first leopard was pretty far from the road, and was rather hard to see. It already had quite a few cars watching it when we got there. It was sitting in a tree, and had dragged a kill, an impala, into the tree. I got neither photos nor video, but was able to see it a bit through the binoculars. The second leopard was perhaps a mile from the first. As you will see, it too was in a tree. The third leopard was walking about 15 feet from the road when we came upon it. We were the second car to see it, though we were quickly joined by others. We were able to follow the leopard for about 20 minutes as it walked more or less parallel to the road. At one point, we lost the leopard in the bush, but we knew what direction it was headed, so we found a side road and stopped about where we thought the leopard should turn up. Sure enough, after a few minutes, there it was. Hayley left enough space between our car and the next that the leopard chose that spot to cross the road. |
