The weather had been cold, rainy, and windy for a couple of days. But the morning Rob and I went to Addo was sunny and starting to get warm. Shortly after we arrived at the park, the elephants started coming down out of the hills, where they'd probably gone to seek shelter from the wind. Wave after wave, herd after herd, they came down from the hills, stopping at the watering hole where we were, then continued on to the lower plains to feed. We probably saw 150 elephants, out of the park's population of 400, in the 30 - 45 minutes we sat there.
